About IEC
What we are
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club (IEC) is a student organisation within the CUHK MBA programme. It is established and run by a committee elected from the current cohort, and it plans a fresh programme each academic year.
The club sits within CUHK Business School and takes part in the Ecosystem of Future Leaders Scheme, also known as LEAP. Its focus is Hong Kong’s innovation economy: the startups, the corporate innovation teams, and the investors around them.
Who it is for
CUHK MBA students, first
Full-time and part-time. Most sessions are open to the whole MBA cohort, whatever your background or concentration.
Other postgraduates, where noted
The May competition also welcomes students from MAcc, MFin, and MRE. Individual sessions say when they are open more widely.
What IEC is not
IEC is a student club run by MBA students. It is not the University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, and it is not an official CUHK body. “CUHK MBA Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club” means a student organisation within the MBA programme.
What the club is for
Innovation is impact. Turning ideas into meaningful change.
Lead change
Overcome the barriers that stall good ideas, and make innovation happen.
Learn by doing
Test ideas, pitch boldly, and learn from honest feedback.
Grow together
Share ideas, build connections, and support one another.
The year ahead
The 2026/27 programme runs from October 2026 to July 2027: a corporate innovation seminar, happy-hour networking, a pre-competition pitching workshop, the 5x5 pitching competition, and a summer field trip.
